Recently I have had the urge to create something a little different.

I’ve been seeing a lot of images lately that look like an abstract painting. One notable example would be the new wallpapers released on the iPad Pro. So naturally I decided to try my hand at making something in the same style.

I realized that it would be easy to make something similar using graphic design software, but I decided to try my hand at combining traditional painting with photography.

The resulting image is a photograph of an acrylic painting. I spent an entire afternoon messing around with pouring paint onto sheets of glass until I came up with something that looked neat. After three attempts, I came up with the image you see here today.

It was a lot more difficult than I expected. Of course I am not a painter.

However it was quite fun to transform my photography studio into one for painting. I did end up making quite a mess.

After letting the painting dry for around two days I set up some lights and took a picture.

I was pleasantly surprised at how the lights affected the final product. They made the photo stand out a lot more than the original painting. I than put the final image through Adobe Lightroom, adjusting the color and exposure a little bit. Now I have something that is quite interesting to look at.
